Call for Authors: Military Sci-Fi

The next genre sale from the Based Book Sale is coming up! We’re looking for releases that are in the Military Science Fiction genre.

We have begun compiling a short list of authors and titles that we hope to include. The intention is to have between 20-30 authors/titles in this Military Science Fiction genre sale to make it easy for those readers who like the style to collect all of the entries without great expense. Futuristic military and war story writers leave the relevant information in a reply below.

The Military Science Fiction genre sale starts Wednesday, October 15th, 2025, 12:01 AM PDT and ends Tuesday, October 21st, 2025, 11:59 PM PDT.

Authors, want your book included? If you want to participate in the week-long Military Science Fiction genre sale, here’s what you have to do.

1. First, you have to subscribe so you’ll get the email updates when the sale is live.

   Based Book Sale is a cooperative effort for authors and readers alike. There is no cost to participate, although you are welcome to upgrade to a paid subscription to further support our mission.

2. Second, put your book in the comments of this post in this format:
   
   “NOT new to the sale/NEW to the sale; Michael Finney; Relic of the Aztecs; https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CTYQXL9V”
   
   If you prefer another link, you may provide that instead, but then, we won’t have visibility to your sales, and you won’t be listed in the sales rankings.
   
   Also include links to your Twitter/X account and if possible a Facebook Page so we can tag you in promo.

3. This genre sale will exclusively be focused on Military Science Fiction, beyond that, subgenres or mixes with romance, mystery, and other approaches are welcome. Space is limited for this event, so please don’t think we are intentionally excluding your book.

4. I’ll either “like” your comment or reply with a note if there’s a problem. It may take me a few days to catch up with all the comments. Make sure your book is priced to be free or $0.99 for the sale period, in this case: Wednesday, October 15th, 2025, 12:01 AM PDT and ends Tuesday, October 21st, 2025, 11:59 PM PDT. Either schedule a Kindle Countdown deal, if your book is in Kindle Direct, or put in a sales price change a few days in advance of the sale. Don’t cut it too close, since it may take up to 72 hours for the change to go through, and you usually cannot change it again for another month, anyway.

5. Make a good-faith effort to promote the sale to your readers through your email list and social media. Introduce your fans and readers to the other author’s books in the sale, as the rest of us are doing the same for yours.
