This is very important information—thanks for bringing it to the authors' attention! Unfortunately, I’m a bit late to the party, but I’d just like to add a note about selling DRM-free ebooks on Amazon that might come in handy (perhaps you could include it in a future post?): they’ve removed any indication that a book is DRM-free from the “Details” section of book pages, so authors who decide to do so should add a note in the book descriptions, as Baen does for its titles. They add “At the publisher’s request, this title is sold without DRM (Digital Rights Management),” but a simple “THIS BOOK IS SOLD WITHOUT DRM” should suffice as well. It would be very helpful for people like me who, if a book were available only for the closed Kindle system, wouldn’t buy it. For example, I discovered that Sarah A. Hoyt’s “No Man’s Land” series is DRM-free and bought all three books, and I did the same for Castalia House’s translations of Natsume Sōseki, but if I were sure about other authors, I’d buy even more. I still prefer to buy directly If I can, though!
Another note for authors who are not part of the Kindle Select program: since you cannot schedule an Amazon sales promotion, change your price today or tomorrow, as it can take up to 72 hours for the change to finish processing. For me, it consistently takes only a few hours, but better to have an extra day or two at $.99 than to potentially miss out on the first day of the sale because your price chance is still processing.

Thanks. I had thought the DRM was unchangeable once set.
Sadly, we can't participate this time but next time? You bet!

Great info Hans, thank you.
Amazon wouldn't let me change my prices. I tried it a week ago.
I did, however, give links to my author page, where the ebooks will be sold.
All of them are drm free.
"The goal is to build a parallel literary economy, not funnel every transaction through a single corporate gatekeeper." this is very important imo.
